I have lived all things First Tee Four Corners since its inception back in 2002. I got my start in the game of golf at age 11, when I began caddying and playing. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to New Mexico in 2000 after graduating from New Mexico State University. I am a PGA Member since 1997 and have been teaching and coaching all my life. My wife Kelly is our family rock and teaches elementary music at Bluffview, my son Quinn (18) just started at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he is on the golf team, and my daughter Annie is a sophomore at Piedra Vista High School and quite the accomplished golfer and violinist.

Back in 2002, we recognized a huge void in the junior golf landscape in the Four Corners region and set out to find a solution. We brought a chapter of the First Tee to northwest New Mexico and started programming in 2005. I loved the concept of teaching life skills and character values through golf and have instilled my passion for the game to pass along to future generations. I am now the Director of Programs and am passionate about growing the game of golf to the entire region.

The lifelong relationships that I build with the families is absolutely my favorite part. I feel like I am a part of a huge community that keeps growing. And now, in my old age, get to teach the children of the children I taught at the very start of the program…which is both depressing and exciting.

Fun Fact: I am a huge fan of the band, Phish and have seen them 35 times in concert. I am also a foodie and love to try new things to expand my palate. I brew beer and wine, although I have been too busy to do much of that lately (unfortunately). Now I look forward to traveling to watch my son and daughter in their golfing journey.

Tina moved back to her hometown of Farmington 13 years ago. She enjoys being active in the community and has been a part of The Farmington Noonday Civitan Club, and The City of Farmington Community Relations Commission. Tina enjoys camping and hiking with her family and being involved in her two sons’ activities. Tina first learned of First Tee when her oldest son participated in a summer session at Riverview Golf Course. She was so impressed with the message of the 9 Core Values and the positive impact the program had on her child that she chose to get more involved.
