Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?
A donor advised fund is a charitable giving account you establish with a sponsoring organization. You
make an irrevocable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then make grant
recommendations to qualitied 501(c)(3) charities, such as First Tee Four Corners.
How do I begin giving through a DAF?
If you already have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to First Tee Four Corners either through your
fund administrator or directly via DAFpay.
What are the benefits of using a DAF?
Some of the benefits include:
• Simplified giving: Your fund administrator handles all paperwork, record-keeping, and tax
receipts.
• Flexible timing: You can take your tax deduction when you make a contribution and choose
when and where to disburse grants.
• Tax-efficiency: Contributions are tax deductible, and investment growth is federally tax free.
You can also donate appreciated securities, avoiding capital gains.
• Family legacy: A DAF is a powerful way to build or continue a tradition of family philanthropy.
How do I ensure my gift is acknowledged correctly?
When recommending a grant, we encourage you to use the DAFpay feature on our website, it
ensures immediate gift delivery in just three simple clicks.
If you prefer not to use DAFpay, please be sure to include your full name and contact information.
We are anxious to share with you the impact of your donation!
